Hi all. I just burnt my old bass practise amp and I need it because my live-gig is way too loud. So I was thinking about building one myself (I have some time left). Any ideas or schematics? I rather have some 60 Watts amp, favourable tube but transistor is more easy and affordable.

I found this one and some info about bass tube amps here.

Anyone knows the first one (and how it hold out / sounds?) or have similar to build scheme's (higher wattage is OK)?

Thanks!

Edit: I will make a second preamp switchable (have a MIC200 laying here; tube).

I'll be honest with you; by the time you've acquired the neccesary tools and parts to build your own amp, it will probably have been cheaper and easier to have just bought one.
I know it sounds really cool to build your own amp, but it is a lot harder than putting together a stomp box. In some cases it's even downright dangerous.
Sixty Watts (even tube) is very little for any kind of clean tone, that said, I seem to recall seeing Ampeg Porta-flex combos going for reasonable prices last time I went bass-amp shopping. They're tube, and very popular with old session musicians.

Ah well, but I already have all the parts needed (have build guitar amps) but I have trouble finding decent schematics of bass amps (different freq. response, low freq. oscillation problems, different distribution of power, etc.) and the experience of building a decent sounding bass amp. I am going for SS; my live rig is complete with a 100W bass amp, this one is only for backup, a second cabinet or something like that.

So, anybody has bass-amp schematics?
