In a few days, I will be a happy owner of a marshall 1960B 4x12 cabinet! But I'm getting this feeling that my Laney tubefusion head then won't satisfy me anymore...

So, my question is: what head would match well with my new cabinet? I'm not very in to marshall heads, the ones I have been able to try have been way to kind, the lead channel doesn't scream the way I wan't them to...

Since I'm doing a lot of different styles of music, I would prefer a three-channel amp. But still, when I'm just playing for fun I mostly play hardrock and metal, so I really need that in-your-face distortion... And maybe also a fender-type clean

Another way to solve my problem maybe would be to just by a great distortion pedal, like a radial tonebone classic or hot british. anyone who's got any comments or recommendations?

I would be very happy if someone could help me out!

As I said, I need flexibility and maybe something more uncommon than a marshall... I want my own sound you know...

try an old mesa of the Mark series
from that basic sound you can go anywhere.
Mark II, best amp I've ever heard

From time to time I send Dwight faxes. From himself. From the future.

More uncommon than a Marshall, with three channels? Sounds like an AC30 head would be ideal. ;) :)

You guys be sure to let me know when you get bored of me recommending them all the time. Seriously, the AC30 through a 1960a cab is one of the best sounds I've ever heard. Beautiful cleans, versatility, great response to stomps - what more could you want?

Yeah, people often forget they have access to distortion pedals when they buy amplifiers.

Like a marshall JMP, it has a really cool tone, then jump on a big muff, and it's a different beast.

I'm actually going to recommend a dual recto or a rivera knucklehead reverb this time around.

I have a Bogner Shiva and I would suggest it to anyone looking for a simple toneful amp. The problem is that if you were to get this amp you will also want to upgrade to a Bogner 4x12 cab. I've used a friend's ENGL savage special edition and I really didn't like it.
